I was trying to find the stocks that Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway is holding when I come across this service at nasdaq.com, powered by EDGAROnline
This website presents the information from Form 13F-HR (Quarterly report filed by institutional managers, Holdings) in a easy-to-read HTML format which is easier on the eyes then the official raw format that can be found at SEC Edgar.
Taking about Warren Buffett, CNBC did an exclusive interview with the Sage of Omaha a while back. A full version of the interview is available from YouTube.
His down-to-earth style has really won my admiration. Some key takeaways from the interview:
- Utimate Luxury (or happiness) is doing what you really want to do. He really loves his work. He don’t need to be pushed to go to work. Seeing some real passion here for a person age 75.
- Tax laws favour the rich. He has the best tax rate among the employees in his company and he was the world’s 2nd richest man (before he donated the large part of his fortune to the Melinda-Gates foundation)!
- He ties his pay to the stock price! This company CEO really has the company interest at heart. Well, Berkshire Hathaway’s shares broke the US$100,000 mark and last traded at US$103,300 per share.
Value investing at its best with the art of compounding interest.
