Idea + Action = Results

The speaker brought up an interesting concept:

BIG Idea + small Action = small Results

small Idea + BIG Action = BIG Results

He quoted the example of this particular couple who only attended an half-hour parenting talk. But they decided to take massive actions to change themselves, to change their own attitude and behavior towards their child. As a result. they brought about a big change in their lives in which the parent-child relationship improved drastically and the couple became more lovingly than before. On the other hand, there are couples who attend seminars after seminars and read books after books. Yet, they did not achieve the desired outcome because they had only taken little action.

I was also listening to an audio interview with a famous blogger who makes tens of thousands from the internet monthly. This blogger mentioned that for him, he did not do much planning in the beginning. What he did was just to try and try different means of monetizing his blog. Since most of these methods are free, or if not, only involve a nominal fee, there is minimal risk.

These 2 examples really exemplifies that the key to success is ACTION. One can be a genius like Einstein, but he kept his thoughts “for later”. He will never succeed because “later” will never come. For the spontaneous couple and the blogger, I reckon they are also not too sure what they are doing what they began. But they just do it and learrn along the way, from books, from friends, from failures etc. And I really believe that even if they didn’t achieve their ultimate goal, because they took massive actions, they will not be too far from their goal. In contrast to not taking any action and they will still be where they are.
