Hi jmot

I went to the Forex talk by Kishore.

I must say I was quite impressed with him. He is managing a hedge fund of US$100M where he only gets commissions if he makes money!

He reiterates the need to ensure a strategy works consistently and not to be swayed by claims of huge ROIs which are possible but rare.

Check out his free talk and access for yourself. BTW, he used to be a CNBC anchor…

Hi jmot!

What is your assessment on Kishore?

Your blog is very informative and full of resources. I am going through the materials at http://www.babypips.com.

A definite must for Forex beginners!!

Hi upfronte, so far Kishore looks very impressive from what you have shared with me. Now I am more cautious of 1-man-show courses like Kishore’s because of the experience from Freely. See the email I sent you with the unfavorable comments about Kishore. And Kishore’s marketing gimmick that you shared deducted some of my confidence too. But I will attend his preview one of these days to find out more.

Hi jmot

Thanks for your feedback and I do agree with you on a one-man up-manship type of courses.

Let me know about your stint with Faseer?

hi all,

i’ve taken Chris Lori’s course and i would give it a 10/10 without a doubt.

Chris Lori is a respectable trader and fund manager in his own right. he teaches with his heart and it was easy to see that all he wanted was for us to succeed. course content is excellent… but the most valuable part of the course was Chris’s experiences which he shares without any reservations. he reveals the way he thinks and trades, as well as the tools and indicators he uses. frankly, he was sharing more than what he needed to really.

i salute the gentlemen behind Wealth-DNA too! they run a weekly meetup every Wednesday for past students to discuss about trades and clarify doubts. held at their office in a training room, everyone is able to bring their computers and use their internet connection for some hands-on.

these weekly meetups are free for life for all students. led by Benny and Charly, they are traders themselves and are there to guide everyone every Wednesday. i think this alone is worth thousands already.

overall, i am very happy with the course. the only regret is that i’ve yet to put what i’ve learnt into practice. but judging from the Wednesday meetups with the other students, the strategies taught works.

Hi Jmot,

I just finished a 2.5 day workshop with Clarence Chee of T3B.

I have attended previews by Kishore M, PowerUp Capital, Far Seers and FX1 Academy.

What made me sign up immediately is the no BS style of Clarence Chee and his very apologetic way of getting people to sign up. He knows his stuff and is a full-time trader with insights into institutional trading.

To get the full benefit of any training, I highly recommend anyone new to Forex trading to go through the free online course on www.babypips.com.

I met a couple who paid for Grace Cheng’s online course. It is their most expensive PDF download as it is not online at all. Email support is scathing with only a one to two liner response. You be the judge on this.

Clarence Chee shared that it is impossible to know forex trading in 2-3 days. The real journey begins when you trade, learn from your mistakes and others.

For that, he offered life-time support for free that includes:

1. Weekly saturday meetings for all his students. He will teach us more about what was not covered or introduce us new indicators.
2. Forum : We have a live forum where Clarence and his team worked throughout the CNY even and responded within 10-15 minutes.
3. Monitoring of trades : We are all encouraged to post all our demo and live trades. Clarence and his team will diagnose and comment on everyone’s trade postings!! Did I say ALL? I mean literally ALL our trades. From there, we are able to see how learn from our mistakes and successes.
4. Monitoring of open trades: Clarence and team even send out warning messages to students who has not closed their trade and send alerts to them when he sees the trade going against them!
5. Daily Analysis report : We get this 9 page report every morning by 9 am without fail!! He will give his analysis on each major currency pair, advise us to watch out for certain indicators, what pre-requisites must be satisfy before opening the trade. This is followed throughout the day with any updates to the forum. From the Analysis Report, he says that we will learn how to do our own analysis ourselves. He shares with us his trade plan every day.

I find his course really value for money. The post training support is OVERWHELMING and he cares for the success of his students as he has a reputation to keep.

The real journey into Forex begins when you have a mentor backed by a good support team, involved in a live forum and meet weekly for updates and on-going training!!

By the way, one of his students who graduated Oct 2007 and went live in Jan 2008, took the first prize on InterBank Trading Platform(better than FXCM) of USD3K for the month of Jan 2008.

Happy CNY to all!

Cheers!

Upfronte,

If you don’t me mind me asking, how much is the cost? In that 2 days, does he cover technical analysis?

mygif
upfronte Said,
February 10th, 2008 @4:13 pm

Hi Rafik,

The fee is about $3 to 3.2K. He introduced a new filtering indicator which was not taught previously. It adds confirmation and or filters out any intra-day spike.

He covers technical analysis as we are trained to be technical traders with understanding of fundamentals. In his daily analysis, he will provide the run-down on the fundamentals followed by individual analysis on the currency pairs based on their weekly and daily charts.

Strategies covered are for intra-day trading with natural transition to short swing and long swing trading.

We are taught to trade in new trend, continuation of existing trend, running markets(high impact news release), ranging markets and Rollover methods.

There is having emphasis on money and emotional management. Included in the on-going program is his Forex clinic where he and his team will advise individual student when they are ready to go live.

I must add, signing to his program requires your commitment to be active in trading and diligent in posting all your winning and losing trades. He will diligently critic, advise, encourage and warn how we enter and exit a trade. He is very hands-on and every single trade done by his student is being monitored.

Why? He wants to correct us and make us successful so that he has a good reputation. Can’t beat that right?

In the forum, we learn to analyse other trades done by our fellow students and he will advise us if our analysis is wrong or correct.

In this way, we learn to be independent and thinking traders.

Hope this helps you on your journey.

Cheers!

thanks upfronte. If i’m a beginner(and after reading babypips.com), would it be information overload for me?

mygif
upfronte Said,
February 10th, 2008 @8:35 pm

Hi Rafik

You will find babypips.com very entertaining and it gives you a better edge in understanding about trading and forex as a financial instruments.

I highly recommend that you go through babypips.com before deciding whether you consider forex as a financial instrument for you. It will be good if time permits, to attend 2-3 free previews so you have a good idea.

I am totally new to trading too and I have bought books and download ebooks on forex. Babypips.com by far is the easiest free online course to lay the basic groundwork to get the maximum out of any workshop.

Any workshop tend to have information overload but it is not that heavy. Once you do your demo trade, post your trades on the forum, receive diagnosis from Clarence and his team….. you will begin to understand where you have gone wrong, gone right and could have made more money…

Cheers!

thanks for the wonderful insights by ck and upfronte! good to have more insights so that people deciding which course to go can make more well-informed choices and not be blinded by the marketing and advertisements :D i tink this blog is going the right way that i wanted it to be!

rafik, for farseers, there is a forum where we can post trading questions and also submit our trades for analysis. but no, they do not respond within 10-15 min like for T3B :P there is also a regular live trading night. where the master trainers will trade along with the students and also ask the students to share their trades with the class, live. we do get exclusive analysis reports but is weekly.

mygif
jmot Said,
February 13th, 2008 @8:41 am

upfronte, i am interested in how T3B monitors trades for the students. are you all doing day trades? can they warn you in time before the market turns against you if you are doing day trades?

mygif
upfronte Said,
February 13th, 2008 @5:33 pm

Hi Jmot,

We all do intra-day trading… with a big NO NO on scalping.

We received daily analysis before 9 am on fundamentals with a one page report on each major. Detailed in the report is the analysis on the Weekly and Daily chart reviewing previous day movements and recommendation to BUY, Short or Stay away.

For each currency pair, we are given the Weekly and Daily Support and Resistance lines to watch out for. Short price target(from institutional info).

At the end of each trading week, we will update our templates which T3B will draw all the Weekly Pivot lines, Fibs, Historical High and Lows, etc.. They have their own formulas in calculating the Weekly Pivot Lines.

Once we start trading even on demo or live, T3B monitor and analyse all trades and keep individual scores of how we are performing. End of the month, we will have the Honours Roll.

All members are encouraged to comment on each other postings. Clarence and his support members will correct our analysis.

It is hands-on and on-the-job training from the moment you get onto the forum.

In addition, we have our weekly Sat meeting that lasts 3 hours. We review the week, trained on any new indicators, etc..

They are very hands on.

They do warn us when the market turns, as everyone is watching the charts.

Hope this helps. BTW, my gmail being disabled.

Cheers

hi Upfronte, very useful info! their support is really the most comprehensive i have seen so far…but now they are just beginning. will the support level dwindle once the student number grows, i wonder. Dr C from my last options course also promises support through the forums and yahoo groups. but as the student no grew, the support becomes merely 1-liner answers, or should i say, questions back to us :| having said that, i guess, being the first few batch of students really have good attention, right? :)

mygif
upfronte Said,
February 15th, 2008 @10:23 am

Hi Jmot,

I am in the 8th batch.

They have a team to monitor and support the new students. I hardly see much participation from the earlier batches as I gather they have become independent and more skillful in their trading skills.

We have about 3-4 mentors who were students from previous batches who have consistently pulled in the highest pips per mth.

The feedback and comments on each trade posting is not only from Clarence, it also comes from his Asst Mentor, aspiring mentors and fellow student traders.

I surmised that as I honed in my skills, I will participate less in the forum other then reading alerts and updates from Clarence.

As one improves his or her trading prowess, the dependency for support will dwindle.

So I think that Clarence has no problem support his new graduates as the older grads will be on their own.

But we will all get the Daily Updates. If fact, we are so accustomed to his style of reporting and analysis then I am sure most of us can do our own analysis. This is what Clarence wants to achieve. We learn from his analysis and then we can do our own.

His daily analysis is part of the on-going training.

FYI, his top student who graduated in Oct 2007 and went live in Jan 2008. So far, from demo to live trade, he has zero losses. He got the USD3K prize in Jan 2008 from InterBank FX as top trader of the month and looks set to win the Feb 2008 prize.

Hope this helps!

May the pips be with us!

Hi Rafik,

At the end of the day, it is a journey that you have to take on your own. The forum participants are all my trading compatriots as we study the reasons for why they enter a position and we correct each other.

T3B never offered specials “packages” like the others. I did not fall for all those marketing gimmick as I seriously want to educate myself. It is a continuing education as you cannot learn trading in 2-3 days. It is an on-going process but if you are in the right program, with good mentor/s, active forum members, etc… you will improve your skills immensely.

For instance, our top student trader, when we study how he get zero losses and pull in the max number of pips and topped everyone in Jan on InterBank FX, we gain insight into the way he trades and what additional filters he used. FYI, he trades less than all of us but each trade pulls in 3-digit PIPS as he has a full-time job.

Hope this helps but go and attend both T3B and Farseers free talk. Attend others before you decide. I have attended 4 different previews before I sign up.

One more thing… you need a mentor who is serious in wanting you to succeed and not how great they are….

Cheers!

I went for Clarence Chee’s preview last week. I like the way he presented the session. The session itself was useful. He explains how forex market is inter-link with other financial markets. What moves the Aussie dollar (gold), etc. The free session itself was useful, unlike other seminars that I have attended where the people just focused on promoting profits, but not the knowledge part.

The post support seems good. But i’ll wait for more reviews by upfront before making any decision.

Guys, I want to share some useful sites for forex.

This site gives daily technical analysis for major currency pairs.
http://www.mizuho-cb.co.uk/TresInternet/TECHNICALS/Index.htm

If you like pivot points, you can go to this site:
http://www.livecharts.co.uk/Members/display_forex_pivots.php

And last but not least, I learnt quite lots of strategies from this site. It does have the forex calendar for those who like to trade news.

I myself is still in a quest to find a consistent strategy in forex. I am broke now, in fact lots of debts that stop me from going for such expensive courses. I do hope the upcoming sharing session we have can enrich us with all the useful information.

just want to know, with all those activities in T3B, does it require to be a full time student? I’d like to keep my work (w/c is quite time demanding) and enroll at T3B at the same time. Just want to make sure that it is not a marketing/sales pure of non sense class like the one that I have attended before.

last time i checked, clarence chee does not have a website pertaining to his forex system. but now he has and what upfronte said above about it’s system appeared on it in a big way as a testimonial! not trying to doubt anyone but we should all be sceptical and be wary of pump and dump tactics on the net!

a few websites and ads are also promoting clarence chee’s forex system. which should not be surprising as clarence chee started by selling his system on the net first. think he wants to use the net’s leverage to sell. but reminds me of fx1! but what puzzles me is why he made the switch to conducting classes locally? is he capitalising on the trend of the popularity of forex, like some other forex schools?

previews, man n woman, foods and products always look good beforehand. until you sign up, married them, taste them and use them! just saying due diligence are needed.

Hi Toh,

Clarence first started teaching forex on his own in May 2007. His ebook was only launched a few months later on the net which was more for the international community. In fact I bought his ebook and after reading it i decided to enroll for his class. His system is rational and I am glad I bought the ebook as well as attended his class. It was money worth.

Later He told us, T3B approached him to conduct forex under its wing and he decided to join as it is a good platform for him to reach out to the public. He then stopped selling his ebook. His ebook only consists of one system. His course has two systems.

Why don’t you guys attend his preview and find out things for yourself. Excellent post course support I must say. Weekly meetings on Saturdays and mid-week chat room meetings.

To everyone’s future endeavor.

mygif
rafik Said,
March 2nd, 2008 @10:10 pm

Hi Donut

Thanks for clarifying. I was wondering why he stopped selling his ebook. How would you rate his system risk:reward ratio? I went to his preview and just wondered there were a few same people who got outstanding results . Were there any newbies who achieved close to that? How long do we need to learn his systems? thanks

mygif
Donut Said,
March 2nd, 2008 @11:47 pm

Hi Rafiq,

Like I said previously Clarence’s system is rationale. As for those people who got outstanding results, there are also newbies. You can get to see them during the weekly gathering and chat with them. I am also a newbie myself, and have already started live trading recently with good results. As for how long to learn the system, I guess it depends on individuals. I know some who demo traded for one or two months, while some demo traded for more than that before going live. For me I took my time as I needed for my funds to be made available for my live trading.

All I can say the system works, but you must practice it and follow all the rules diligently. By the way, Clarence provides us with his daily analysis which includes his own trading plan for the day. That makes our trading easier.

Thats all I can say. Guess you have to see it for yourself to be convinced.

To everyone’s future endeavor

Because wealth-dna recent course emphasize on price action without using indicators, so I think that was quite interesting?

hi donut,

thanks for clarifying some things. the website you gave is the one i talked about. what puzzles me is why clarence chee only launched his website now? when he already conducted his course since last may! weekly meetings was also started just recently on 23/2/08.

if you clicked “monthly top traders” on the website. you will see mr derek longman topping the rankings for the month of jan and feb. so why doesn’t his name and testimony appear on the website and the ad advertise in the papers? wouldn’t it be more convincing if you have your top traders endorsement?

then, there’s mr simon lin. in his testimony posted on the website and in the papers. he say he’s averaging 300 pips per month. but why doesn’t his name appear in the top 5 rankings for the month of feb?

also, donut. can you state the price of clarence chee’s course? has the price risen?

just some things that i find funny which i hope to get an answer to! just being sceptical.

mygif
Donut Said,
March 4th, 2008 @11:12 am

Hi Toh,

If you are skeptical, I suggest that you do not attend Clarence’s course. But anyway I will try to answer you to the best of my knowledge and this will be final because I don’t intend to make it an issue here.

This weekly meeting was kicked start after CNY as he has finished his 1st batch of students for T3B in Feb. Prior to that, when Clarence was on his own, he does not provide any weekly gatherings, but he does allow all students for free retakes subject to vacancies. As for Simon, he did not post any trades in Feb in our group. So his name was not on the list of op traders. There is nothing unusual about this because even for myself because of the CNY, I only did one live trade in Feb.

I did not attend any of Clarence’s preview. But I did refer a friend to attend his preview and I was told he is charging SGD2888, which is one of the lowest in town. This is according to my friend who has been going around. My friend plan to sign up for the April intake because of my recommendation. He’s been to Momentum Asia (SGD2,988), Kishore (SGD3,888) and Chris Lori (SGD4,500+). But he decided to join Clarence’s not because of the price but because he saw Clarence’s sincerity in his presentation with no hype but facts. In fact, of all the previews he went, only Clarence reveals his system to the audience and explains the strategies clearly.

I appreciate you that you go and attend the preview and see things for yourself rather than asking me questions here. Hopefully the preview will clear your doubts.

To everyone’s success
