Why this post? This post is especially helpful for students of FX1 Academy. We were not taught how to set alerts during the class. Some who did not know how to do it has to stare at the charts to wait for the 0-1-2-3 (or a-b-c now) points to form. And my, they could take quite a while to form! With no knowledge on other things, purely staring at the candlesticks can be quite boring…
How did alerts help me?
I used to turn on my notebook when I reach home daily and get my alert in place. After which, I could be taking my dinner or playing with Joy and only rush to the screen if the alert goes off. Then I can set the next alert or set the pending orders (hey! I could share this in my next post!) when it is time to enter. A real time saver.
How to set the alerts?
- At the bottom panel (the “Terminal” panel) on your MT4 platform, choose the “Alerts” tab

- Right-click on the blank space and click “Create”

- Choose the symbol that you wish to set the alert for. In the condition field, I usually use “bid” because the charts are plotted with bid prices

- You will see the new alert entry in the panel

Hope this helps…
